The existing house had a previous extension which was poorly laid out and was no longer fit for use, the lack of windows into the kitchen made the kitchen and dining space dark. The project was to demolish the existing rear extension and construct a new single pitched extension to accommodate an open plan kitchen and dining area. A large window on the flank all provides a large window seat and with the addition of a long slim rooflight the kitchen and dining is now full of natural daylight. Additional features including a feature wall to hide pipework on the existing wall and a small bar area are all intended to create a social space without compromising for utilities and structure.
